ELLMORE, Martha Gilstrap Brown - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha A. Ellmore, age 98, of Salem, Ind., a former Covington resident for many years, who died Jan. 18 in the Washington County Memorial Hospital at Salem, were held there Jan. 20 at the Dennis Chapel. Brother J. J. Jarrett officiated and burial was in the Big Spring Cemetery at Salem. Mrs. Ellmore was born Feb. 24, 1864, a daughter of Harvey and Catherine Gilstrap. She was the widow of Frank Brown and Alfred E. Ellmore, both of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Ellmore was a member of the Salem Church of Christ. She had resided in Covington for many years and about 15 years ago moved to Salem. She is survived by two brothers, Alva and Charles Gilstrap, both of Salem. Charles, a male nurse, made his home with his sister and took care of her until she had to be taken to the hospital.  --typed by Walt W
